In wearable displays of artistry, fashion designers draw on multiple artistic sensibilities to create their collections and help their businesses thrive. From theatrical presentations to international fashion shows, here is the latest fashion industry news including the opening of a top designer’s new boutique in Paris.

Roger Vivier Presents Sensorama Featuring the Fall/Winter 2020 Collection

In an exploration of the senses, guests will experience Sensoramais during the Fall/Winter 2020 presentation of Roger Vivier. In a new world imagined by Creative Director Gherardo Felloni, Hotel Vivier transitions from the conceptual to the sensorial. From sight, sound and smell, to taste and touch, Sensorama will give fashion fans a multisensory experience while discovering the new collection.

The sense of sight will be pushed to the limits inside a room with the glowing silhouette of women and fluorescent lights. To explore the sense of sound, guests will be welcomed inside a studio where characters are recording ASMR sounds, humming and echoes, that encourage relaxation. For the sense of smell, guests will journey through an olfactory laboratory with Roger Vivier shoes placed under domed glass cloches. Inside, an actress is savoring different aromas, like mint and cherry, scents that are symbolic of certain memories.

A room lined with pink, textured fabric is next, to excite the sense of touch. Here, impressionists dressed as courtesans at the Versailles court are getting ready to host a baroque feast. Finally, taste buds will experience a culinary treat as the sense of taste is awakened by a young chef in the glitter room. The gourmand will create delicious treats that guests can enjoy, with a giant birthday cake that holds a surprise – a glamorous singer who will perform.

The 71st edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid recently hailed a new decade for Spanish fashion. The main platform for Spanish fashion marked the trends for the upcoming autumn-winter season.

The schedule included 37 Spanish design brands and the stylish work of creators on the catwalk for 6 days. Roberto Diz opened the show. In addition, the designs of talented Spanish fashion designers included Miguel Marinero, Ana Locking,  Devota&Lomba, The 2nd Skin Co, Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, Pedro del Hierro, Custo Barcelona, Angel Schelesser, Brain&Beast, Devota&Lomba, Andres Sardá and Juan Vidal.

Marc Jacobs Opens First Boutique in Paris With New Line From Marc Jacobs International 

THE MARC JACOBS, 30 RUE DES ARCHIVES 75004 PARIS

Following its launch in June of 2019, The Marc Jacobs – the new line from Marc Jacobs International – is opening in Paris’ Le Marais neighborhood. Located at 30 rue des Archives, the store will offer the full range of items across all product categories. The new line celebrates the eclectic and individual approach to getting dressed.

Drawing from the periods, music, art and pop culture have always inspired the classic silhouettes. True to the spirit of Marc Jacobs, the collection will be reinterpreted with each season creating an ever-growing wardrobe of items. Key collaborations include work with the British artist Magda Archer.
